Shockwave Therapy

ShockWave therapy involves the application of short, frequent and high intensity bursts of mechanical energy into soft tissue that is inflamed, painful, injured, scared or contains adhesions.

Conditions treated:

  • Planter Fasciitis
  • Calcific Tendonitis
  • Jumpers Knee
  • Heel spurs / Heel pain
  • Myofascial Trigger points in muscle
  • Tennis / Golfers elbow
  • Achilles Tendonitis
  • Rotator cuff

Benefits:

  • Breakdown scar tissue and adhesions
  • Increased blood flow
  • Improved healing response
  • Reduce muscle spasm
  • Decrease pain
Pregnancy Care

Birth can sometimes be traumatic for both mother and baby. Chiropractic treatment can help you and your baby recover from birth trauma. During pregnancy hormones released by your body cause your ligaments to become lax, this allows space for your baby to grow and for normal birth to occur. Unfortunately, this can also have an adverse affect on your spine, causing abnormal movement. This, combined with posture changes, due to added weight can cause mild discomfort to severe back pain. Chiropractic treatment can correct pelvic dysfunction and misalignment, eliminating undue tension to the muscles and ligaments, therefore enhancing optimal fetal positioning, this can help with easier labour and delivery.

Baby Care

Chiropractic treatment is safe for newborns, babies, toddlers and children. Many babies have misalignment after birth, especially if forceps are used, or if the baby was a breach or ceasarian delivery. Treatment aims to relieve any stress that can affect the babies spine, the treatment has shown to help children and babies with colic, reflux, prolonged crying, increased irritability, headaches, sleeping and breastfeeding problems, postural abnormalities, delayed milestones and chronic/recurrent middle ear infections.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling uses a thin stainless steel needle to help ease muscular pain. The needle is inserted into muscular trigger points, spasms or 'knots' in the muscle. This helps stimulate blood flow to the area and relax the muscle.

IFC

Interferential Current (IFC) is a modality which applies an interferential current over a specific area of the body. This current helps to block the pain sensors from the brain as well as facilitate healing in the tissues it is applied to.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound has been shown to:

  • Increase rate of healing
  • Help with tissue relaxation
  • Gently warm tissue
  • Increase local blood flow
  • Break down scar tissue
  • Decrease local inflammation and swelling
